屏風でのこのユーモラスなアプローチは、技巧的に高度なものである。数百もの赤く輝く点が画面を覆い、麻疹（はしか）が突発しているかのようである。個々の画面そのものが、灰色の金属光沢の陶器でできている。これは信楽にある大塚オーミ陶業の長さ50ｍのガス加熱コンベア窯で、30時間焼成したものである。

This humorous approach to the folding screen is nevertheless highly technical. Looking like an outbreak of measles, hundreds of red-glaze dots coat the surface of the panels. The individual panels themselves are made of stoneware with a gray metallic glaze, produced by firing them for thirty hours in the fifty-meter-long, gas-fired conveyor kiln at the Otsuka Ohmi Ceramics Co. in Shigaraki, Japan.

In addition to the work’s unusual materials and subject, this screen also does not fold like conventional ones; instead, it requires assembly with fitted metal brackets at the top and bottom. Furthermore, each pair of panels is arranged in a convex manner rather than in the usual concave way, so that the end panels angle away from the viewer.

This work is on display for the entire exhibition period.
