Beyond the Easel: Decorative Painting by Bonnard, Vuillard, Denis, and Roussel, 1890–1930 was written by Gloria Groom, exhibition curator, with an essay by Nicholas Watkins and contributions by Jennifer Paoletti and Thérèse Barruel. This lavishly illustrated catalogue, published by The Art Institute of Chicago, features three essays as well as entries on each object in the exhibition. It is available in the Museum Shop. Art Access is an online resource that examines objects from various areas of The Art Institute of Chicago’s permanent collection to enrich visitors' understanding of their content, style, and historical context. The interactive site is of special interest to educators, parents, students, and young people, including lesson plans for the classroom and art projects for the home. The section on Impressionism and Post-Impressionism directly relates to this exhibition and includes paintings by Claude Monet, Henri Matisse, and Paul Gauguin, as well as a discussion of Edouard Vuillard’s Window overlooking the Woods.
