X-radiograph of Bathers by a River

In the past, the limited size of X-ray film and the monumental scale of Bathers by a River made the work challenging to document: the canvas required 122 separate sheets of film that had to be cut and pasted together, resulting in lost information. For this project, new software was designed to digitally stitch separate films together into a composite that is corrected for dimensional and tonal distortion, and that can be examined in high magnification.
