09. Hotel Metropole
2300 S. Michigan, SE Corner
1891 by Clinton J. Warren
Demolished 1975; now the site of a mid-rise development

This classic Chicago School building was once a luxury hotel with 300 guest rooms and first-class amenities and was later known as one of Al Capone's headquarters. The hotel spent its last decades in neglect and was demolished without warning in 1975.
