Kikuji Kawada's dream of a stain on the ceiling of the Hiroshima Prefecture Industrial Promotion Hall (commonly called the Atomic Bomb Dome) led to his photobook The Map. In the book, published on August 6, 1965, the twentieth anniversary of Hiroshima, images of the radiation rings on the dome are interspersed with photographs of Special Attack Force (kamikaze) soldiers' memorabilia.
