06. Ryerson Library, c.1960.
Between 1929 and the mid 1960s, the architectural book and serial collections of the Burnham Library was physically separated from the Ryerson Library's collections on art and artists. The Burnham Library, adjacent to the Ryerson, consisted of a two-story study room, with bookshelves along the walls and on the second floor gallery. The two libraries merged administratively in 1957, and physically in the mid 1960s, after a major remodeling project.
