Alexander Calder "Flamingo" album, vol. 2, July 1973-July 1974.
Carter Manny, as a senior partner in the architecture firm C.F. Murphy Associates, was intimately involved with the artist Alexander Calder in the commission, design development, fabrication, installation and dedication of Calder's Flamingo stabile in Chicago's Federal Center, dedicated in 1974. In six scrapbook albums Manny organized correspondence, invoices, photographs, newspaper and magazine articles, invitations, etc. In like manner he recorded his similar involvement with Marc Chagall's Four Seasons mosaic, installed in the First National Bank Plaza.
