The designers rented a loft space in Paris, which visitors could again move around at will. Spread across multiple rooms on two levels, models clothed in Bless’s garments from that season clustered in groups posing as if for a still-life drawing class. Students from local art and fashion schools sat on the ground around them, drawing industriously. The collection’s title and concept came from the word “au-wowow,” which Bless explains is “a traditional German exclamation used to signify heartfelt approval.” This term was coupled with the word “know-how,” which signifies for the designers their own belief in self-expression and a creative path “that does not play by the rules.” By encouraging viewers to interpret their work within an art-world context, they encourage interpretation and discovery.
