Education has been an integral part of the Art Institute and its efforts to serve the public since the museum’s founding in the 19th century. The Patrick G. and Shirley W. Ryan Learning Center, prominently located on the first floor of the Modern Wing, is a state-of-the-art facility that hosts education programs for families, groups, teachers, and teens. This space doubles the size of the museum’s previous education facility and features five classrooms, three large studios, the Crown Family Educator Resource Center, and the new David and Marilyn Fatt Vitale Family Orientation Room.
