Viktor Nikolaevich Denisov entered the studio of the portrait painter Nikolai Ulianov in the early 1900s. From 1910 he published his political cartoons in such satirical magazines as Budil’nik, Lukomor’e, and Pulemet as well as the newspaper Golos Moskvyii. He relocated to St. Petersburg in 1913 and then to Kazan in 1919, where he designed his first posters and contributed satirical cartoons to Soviet political publications. After returning to Moscow in 1920 Deni designed stenciled posters for the municipal ROSTA studio, and in 1921 his cartoons began to appear in the newspaper Pravda. In 1932 he was awarded the title Honored Worker of Arts of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic. In July 1943 he designed two posters for the TASS studio.
