A graduate of the art studio of the All-Union Central Council of Trade Unions (VTsSPS) in Moscow, Petr Ashotovich Sarkisian was one of the most dynamic designers for the TASS studio, generating approximately seventy-three posters between October 1942 and April 1946. Following World War II, he studied at the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography (VGIK). An active book illustrator and animator, he joined the film studio Souzmultfil’m in 1952, first as an art director and then, after 1965, as a director.
