Le Salon de la Mode, a weekly French fashion magazine, included hand-colored plates as well as other black-and-white illustrations of the latest styles from Paris. In addition to the informing readers of the current trends in clothing and accessories, Le Salon de la Mode contained theater listings, "useful recipes," suggested menus, family activities, and other recommendations for women of the day. The Ryerson and Burnham Libraries have the all fifty-two issues of volume 9 (1883).
Published in London, The Ladies' Pocket Magazine featured fashion, beauty, and literary content. Each volume contains several engravings--including hand-colored fashion plates--as well as advice about fashion, hairstyles, and personal style. The Ryerson and Burnham Libraries have volumes 1-11 (January 1827- September 1830).
The tiny fashion magazine La Mode-Miniature was published weekly with content that included stories, poems, and fashion and beauty advice.
