Viktor Semenovich Ivanov studied at the Academy of Arts in Leningrad from 1929 to 1933 with Mikhail Bobyshov and Boris Dubrovskii-Eshke. From 1933 to 1941, he worked as an art director for the Mosfil’m studio in Moscow. He designed approximately 19 posters for the TASS studio between November 1941 and October 1943, publishing his lithographic work widely during the same period. He received the Stalin Prize for his wartime contributions in 1946 and 1949 and was awarded the title Honored Worker of Arts of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic in 1955.
