Ginger the Housekeeper

• 1½ ounces North Shore aquavit*
• ½ ounce Cruzan Black Strap rum*
• ¼ ounce Licor 43
• ½ ounce ginger syrup**
• ¼ ounce fresh lemon juice
• 1 whole egg
• grated nutmeg

Combine all ingredients through lemon juice. Break egg into mixture, and mix well before adding ice. Add ice, shake, strain and top with grated nutmeg

* North Shore acquavit and Cruzan Black Strap rum were chosen because they are the current house acquavit and rum at the Violet Hour.

** The ginger syrup can be replaced by ginger beer and simple syrup. Simply use ½ ounce simple syrup in place of the ginger syrup. After shaking and straining the cocktail, top with ½ ounce ginger beer.
